Being in a body can be strange. You’ll never experience yourself outside of your body the way another person experiences you. Because your point of view is naturally directed outward from your body, it takes awareness and directed effort to look inward, to reflect.

Looking inward is important, because it allows us to see if we are in alignment with who we are, or who we want to be. When something feels off in our lives, it’s usually because our outer world is not in alignment with our inner world. Things aren’t lining up.

To live an aligned life, a life where you feel peace within you, fulfillment, happiness, and a sense of … not necessarily purpose, but a groundedness … who you are and who you are being, i.e. your choices and actions, need to be in alignment.

HI THERE.

I’m Shel Kim Rollison, a writer, singer-songwriter, and coach. I release music as Our Daughter. Welcome to my daily blog!

Austin Kleon once wrote, “If it’s not online, it doesn’t exist.” After decades of writing offline, having my thoughts and insights “not exist”, I was inspired by Seth Godin to decide once to commit to a daily blog, and here we are.

I write about my reflections, insights, and life learnings, including those around self-awareness, growth, creativity, and how to live a life true to ourselves.

However you came to be here, I hope you find something that’s helpful.
