Lately, I’ve noticed I’ve felt much lighter in the morning when I wake up. Life doesn’t feel quite so heavy as it did. I feel more energy for the day and even a sense of fun and play about moving into my day.
For months and months, I wanted to be in this place, but instead, I woke up feeling heavy, low energy, and not feeling that excited about getting out of bed.
To get to where I am now, it took a lot time involving many factors. I was coming out of a hard season and multiple large life transitions at the same time. I was getting my nervous system regulated again and getting back in touch with my body and inner knowing. I was reconnecting with myself, my desires, and my values. These kinds of things can’t be forced to go faster.
You just can’t get somewhere quicker than the time you need to take to get there.
Knowing this, the process requires grace, patience, and consistently showing up. The path to anywhere worthwhile is never easy or quick. As Mary Oliver once wrote, “Things take the time they take.”
