Telling your story … YOUR OWN story, can be the most terrifying, yet liberating thing you can do because it means there’s some level of visibility involved. It means telling the truth. It means being seen. Sometimes, you’re not ready to be fully seen in your truth, and that’s okay. Everyone has their own pace and their own way.
Telling your story doesn’t have to be a huge, public process. You don’t have to write a memoir the world reads. It can simply be sharing it with someone you hold dear in your life or writing it down for your eyes only.
Writing it down is a powerful because it’s a tangible way to see yourself mirrored back to you. It makes it real in the physical.
It’s a beautiful way to declare to yourself, as one of my very wise friends recently said in considering writing down her own story, “I existed I was here. I’m a thread in the tapestry of the human story. This is my story.”
Tell your story.
